![]() ![]() If your original notebook in step 1 is corrupted or fails to load, rename the notebook in this directory by removing the (date) and copy that file to C:\Users\YourProfilename\Documents\OneNote Notebooks Close Onenote 2016, Reopen Onenote 2016 and you should see the notebook loaded to include all its sections and pages. Inside the notebook folder is the actual notebook file Notebook.one Quick Notes.one (On 1-15-2018) <- Is the Quick notes Notebook with a date of the backup performed. Your backups are kept in C:\Users\YourProfilename\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\Backup The folders that are in that directory are each a separate notebook. Your active copy of your onenote notebook(s) is kept in C:\Users\YourProfilename\Documents\OneNote Notebooks There are 3 locations on your computer that you should be aware of. ![]() You can import it later using "File, Open, Browse to your USB drive. If it goes through correctly then create an exported backup to usb by clicking "File, Export, Notebook, Onenote Package, Press Export." Save to USB drive. One quick note.one file is created per notebook, delete quick notes.one from each Notebook at that location. It has been preventing me from syncing lately. In that screen if you notice its failing because of quicknotes, then go to C:\Users\Yourprofilename\Documents\OneNote Notebooks\Click On Your notebook\ and delete the Quick Notes.one file. Always verify that the sync finished by right clicking on the notebook (left side of window near top) choose "Notebook Sync Status", it will indicate if it failed. But first you must be able to Sync, not my rule, its Microsoft's rule. I would recommend creating an exported backup to a usb drive. Sign in with your Microsoft account to check. I believe if you've even synced just once when your using the Onenote 2016 application, your notes should be kept on It should contain all your notebooks to include sections and pages. Ok so if you wiped your computer, all your local backups are toast which would have been in C:\Users\YourProfile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\Backup ![]()
